National Anthems. Most amusing article on the BBC webpage by Alex Marshall who is writing a book on the subject. Shocking that composers of national anthems get nothing - but the problem is that if you had to pay every time you sang the national anthem you could end up with nobody singing it and at some events it's compulsory. What do you think? Take out of copyright songs and tunes - or pay a small sum, equivalent to the minimum wage for three hours' work every year for fifty years?
