On holiday why not visit a museum of food or drink. Today my discovery is Escoffier. I am researching a book of quotations and found Escoffier:
He was called the king of chefs and the chef of kings. He worked at the Savoy with Ritz and then joined Ritz at the new Ritz hotel. He created peach melba and melba toast for Australian singer Dame Nellie Melba.
Escoffier said:
Success is the sum of small things done correctly.
If the divine creator has taken pains to give us delicious and exquisite things to eat, the least we can do is prepare them well and serve them with ceremony.
His books are still read in French and English.

USA - north of San Francisco the biggest and best guided tours, display boards, and supermarket size shops with souvenirs ranging from tea towels and books on wine to wine diaries, bottle openers, you name it.
New Zealand, big and small wineries to visit.
South Africa - wineries have restaurants on a trail.
UK Global warming is creating the weather for vineyards and they are starting to open restaurants and shops.
