I must admit to be rather partial to the Grand Hotel, Excelsior, where I stayed. I also liked the neighbouring Phoenicia Hotel in Malta's capital city, Valletta, and the Kempinsky on Malta's second largest island, Gozo. But the Grand Hotel outdid everybody else with its lively decorations in red, the traditional Chinese lucky colour and Chinese New Year colour.
The hotel had a Chinese New Year dinner and a webpage explaining the significance of the new year of the ram.
