NatWest Travel Premium account worldwide travel Insurance - another look at

I've had another look at NatWest premium current account which currently costs £16 and includes worldwide travel insurance. That includes mobile phones, with conditions. What are the conditions? If there are two of you on a joint account, one mobile phone each.

If you look at the conditions on line it will allow you to discuss them with your family.
I went into my local branch and they printed off the terms for me and the other account holder to read and sign. (This saves you having to pay for the printing yourself.)

There are numerous conditions but these are the ones I noticed.

If either of you are already 70 or turn 70 before the year is up, or during the next renewal year, you will have to go for a medical screening which currently costs you £50.

You must be a UK resident. What if you have a second home and/or decide to go to live overseas?

You do not want to keep paying on a policy which is no longer valid. Nor do you want to think you are covered by insurance, then find you are not, because of the exclusion clause.

This may not affect you. Or you may think, I'll worry about that problem when I get to it. As with many policies, you might find that you can extend cover, by declaring a change in circumstance, and paying an extra premium.

If you buy an expensive phone such as an iPhone, or an expensive laptop such as a MacBookPro, it may not be covered if your level of cover has a limit of, say £300. Like car insurance, you may have to pay the first £75 or another sum of every claim or every item.

I seem to be getting conflicting advice from my friends and NatWest offer more than one grade of account.

Read all the conditions and decide what is adequate for yourself and your family.
