French words of the day: diamanté - c'est la vie

cinema vérité - truthful or lifelike films - in English we might say kitchen sink drama
diamanté -diamond-like gemstone
ingenue - naive newcomer, inexperienced, English word ingenuous or, unknowing different from ingenious meaning clever
malaise - misery - feeling of discontent, being ill at ease with the world, from mal bad as in malcontent - dis-satisfied person
menage à trois - threesome living arrangement
chemin de fer - way/railway of iron , version of card game baccarat, casino gambling game
c'est la vie - that's life or it is life
vingt et un - twenty one - car game also called pontoon
