Be Prepared For Wear A Hat Day 24th March (Thursday)

Wear a hat day is 24th March 2016 and here's where you can get your hat badge and some pictures of the hats.

What does a hat do for you when you are at home, or at work or travelling? Why do I like or need to wear a hat? Looking at the pictures you can see that hats are used for different purposes. The tall hat helps the wearer look taller and authoritative. The colour or height of the hat get attention.

The sports hat (the baseball cap) has a brim which shields the wearer's eyes from the sun. I find this useful when driving, sitting facing a window, or walking.

A purely decorative hat is just for fun or co-ordinates an outfit for special occasions.

The jester's hat gets attention with its multi-colours and by the jingling bells. All the hats tell you the wearer's work or pastime.
To raise money for research and care and cures for brain tumours, a hat, protecting the head, getting attention, is a very suitable symbol. It can be both practical and fun and fashionable. If you buy a brooch depicting a hat you can help raise money for a worthy cause.

What does a brooch do for you when you are at home or work or travelling? it can be functional or decorative or both. It can attract attention and be a talking point.

It can hold together two sides of a garment. Stop your clothes gaping. Look neat. Close a revealing décolletage during the daytime or when in a formal situation or amongst strangers. Stop a garment slipping off.

If you're looking for a good cause and a get together you could hold a fund-raising tea party, maybe name it a mad Hatter's tea party.
