More on the Sweet, Savoury and Spicy Scents in Siem Reap, Cambodia

Problem
What to see, what to buy at the scent shop?

Make sure you allow time to go for the walk around the factory area. They advertised it on their handouts. However, no mention of it when we stopped at the shop on the way back from the Cultural Centre - passing it by chance on the right driving back into town.

We walked around the shop and liked so much it was hard to choose. Prices were not cheap so we could not just grab one of everything. We fancied some jams in unusual flavours. We considered mosquito repellent for Singapore (even London, England, with global warming, - and parts of the USA and Australia are beset by flies). I wanted lemon balm. Or lavender. Meanwhile of course our tok-tuk driver is patiently waiting for us on this unscheduled stop and we want a massage before the evening trip to the 'circus'.

However, I asked for the tour and they called somebody to walk us around. We saw them cutting down palm leaves, dyeing the leaves and pasting them to make boxes for the body creams. (So, consider that for the money you pay you are getting a body cream plus a free palm leaf box.)

Senteurs d"Angkor Workshop.
Highly recommended.
