Sydney and London in Canada, Watch Out For Trouble

Problems
Oh, no, not again! An unfortunate Dutch traveller bought what he thought was a cheap ticket to Sydney (Australia) but ended up in Sydney, Canada.

Answers
What do I think?
1 Every ticket or ad for a place should be legally obliged to check the buyer/traveller is going to the right place.

2 Always check whether there are two or more places of the same name.

Stories
What has happened before?
1 We lived in the USA, then went back to London. Several people sent us mail from the USA addressed to us with the street name and merely the word London. Our mail was sent to London in Canada and arrived much later, re-directed by a hand-written note on the envelope: "Try London, England."

2 When in the USA, we noticed there was a Paris, Texas.

3 Wikipedia has notes on multiple locations for names of places and people.
