B & K Salt Beef Bar - Again, Yes, Again

Problem

Where can we go which we are sure we will enjoy?

Answer
B and K shalt beef bar in Hatch End.

We ordered the lokshen soup with kreplach for starter for one person. The other had the mixed hors d'oeuvres which we shared.

The lokshen soup had only one kreplach (ravioli with p o u l t r y filling). Spell checker prefers poetry. Thank you, spell checker, for the metaphor, but I meant poultry.

By contrast the mixed hors d'oevres seemed a generous portion.

Our main dishes were salt beef sandwich on rye. One person had it with mustard. The other person had it without. I have to say it is better with.

No spare rye bread? The managers did not seem to be around on a Sunday night.

Finally, one piece of chocolate between two of us. I would not say our forks were fighting. We are too polite. Perhaps impatient for our turn. A just right chocolate cake. I would have gone for the healthier apple strudel. But boys will by boys. It was moist and chocolatey.

The chocolate and toothpicks with the bill were a nice touch.
At £35 for two (including a coca cola) it was not madly cheap. On the other hand it was very filling.

The family has another branch in Edgware. We have been going there for years.
