The Edward Lear Trail, a London hotel and a London pub

Edward Lear Hotel
The Edward Lear hotel in central London was a former home of Edward Lear and displays many items associated with him. A friend of mine who is an art teacher loves staying here. It's central.

Edward Lear pub
The Edward Lear pub is the venue for a meeting of a Toastmasters club, first and third Thursday evenings most months, except for bank holidays. The club is called Experience French.

It is a good place to practise and keep up your french. You won't feel left out if you don't speak French because the meetings are half in English and half in French. Either the speeches are in French, but all the introductions are in English. or the speeches are in English but all the introductions are in French.

The pub is situated around the corner from where Lear once lived.
A nice touch is the words of the nonsense poem about the Owl and the Pussycat, written on the upright of each step of the staircase.
