Peckish? Try Pecking At Pecorino Cheese From Italy

Problem
We like to try diferent cheese from La Fromagerie shop in Marylebone, North London, near Baker Street station in England. When we get home we have a half a dozen cheeses and don't know which is which.

If we have the receipts and the cheeses are different weights, then weigh the cheese and you can identify it and mark the wrapper.

Pecorino is an Italian ewe's milk cheese from Italy, made all over the place. La Froagerie stocks about half a dozen, all different, some pale, others with darker skins, washed in wine.

We like the strong piquant, flavour, tasy, tangy, lemony.

Our open topped sandwich is placed on a small wooden board from Paxton and Whitfield. This always seems very luxurious, indulgent. the wooden board has to be washed by hand.

You cannot put it into a dishwasher. The wood would lose its surface and crack. (Yes, I have tried putting a wooden chopping board in the dishwasher and seen that happen.)

We serve the cheese on seeded brown bread, sometimes toasted, as a small snack at 4 or 5 pm, before going out for the evening.

Bread and cheese? Yes, we think we are getting protein in the cheese, and long-lasting slow-release energy from cereal. We need the energy to send us smiling to gallop up stairs on stations, and arrive energetic and beaming. You can never be sure how long you will have to wait for food.

Peel Me A Grape?
As Mae West said, in her 1933 film, I'm no Angel, "Peel me a grape". We could finish with refreshing grapes.  But that requires washing the grapes and fetching plates.

We try serving grapes on flat wooden boards. However, If you serve something small and round, such as a grape on a flat platter, no lip like on a plate or bowl, what happens? You risk watching your grapes roll off onto the table and down onto the floor by your feet.

The freshness of the grape counteracts the stickiness of the Pecorino cheese.
