Yellow flower in Singapore

Just gorgeous.

I looked at this picture and considered cropping it. However, the flower just on its own, although colourful, is rather boring. I like the way the colour and huge size of the flower make it stand out from its suburban surroundings which makes you appreciate it.

Singapore is full of colourful flowers, all year because it is tropical, near the equator. When you drive into the city from Changi airport, the surroundings look like fairyland. The pedestrian bridges crossing the motorways are festooned with flowers, purple flowers, red flowers, yellow flowers.

Out in the suburbs, the private condos are surrounded by landscaped gardens. Flowers, plants in pots, palm trees and other trees grow fast. Plenty of sunshine and plenty of water.
