Imitation Wood Woes When Floors Are Floored

I love the imitation wood which is the fashion nowadays. (In 2019.)

However, having rented a flat in Asia which has it, I have observed problems. It is laid in strips like real wood. That is great if you ever need to replace something underneath, or to replace just one broken panel.

However, the panels slide about and leave gaps.

Also, within two years, the sliding of chairs under a dining table ruins the surface or picks up the edge of a panel and breaks it off.

Whether you have a real wood floor, or a plastic floor, when moving furniture it must be lifted, not dragged, or you ruin the floor.
