I wondered why sealant was appplied in blobs in private flats and public toilets in Singapore. Then I had work done at home in the UK and a European worker who quoted less for work applied sealand with his finger and kept making a smudgy blobby line.
I finally got round to googling it. Would somebody have put up a video? Yes.
Who? Some DIY expert?
No. The DIY stores!
The solution is simple. You have to buy masking tape and apple it. Then use a shaping tool - just a piece of plastic.
Put the mask along. apply to silicone slowly so as to not get blobs. You can cut the tip of the sealand nozzle to the right place to allow enough and not too much to fill the gap. Smoothe off. Wipe away any blobs.

If your worker arrives without the right tools, but goes back to get more, insist they do a professional job. You also need to cover nearby surfaces to avoid splatter.
Yes, you have to supervise everything done by your plumbers.
The more you insist on your worker doing it right the first time, the more you will have the same person doing it right the next time for you and everybody else.
