Wear them double - even triple - under large boots until the boots fit.
Wear them over patterns you wish to hide - silly patterns when you are meeting clients or business partners; Mickey Mouse, Xmas or seasonal socks when it is not longer that season, political statements, leafy patterns which turn out to be cannabis leaf patterns.
Cover two odd socks - same style but different colours, one faded in the wash.
