Speciality Cheese Shop In Singapore Sells Us a Great Goat Cheese With Olive

We shop around for cheese in Singapore. Despite the island of Singapore having names such as Diary Farm Road, you will not see a lot of cows nor sheep nor goats. I can't remember seeing one. I dare say the zoo has something, for those children who would otherwise never see one. Not much room for a goat on the balcony at our condo. So cheese is probably mostly imported.

A new cheese shop attracted your attention. Run by a Chinese lady. A member of my family zoomed there on his motorbike. He said the place is hard to find, just a doorway.

Once inside, however, you are made very welcome, invited to taste the cheese of the week, before buying.

Customers are kept in contact via a whatsapp group.

The cheese is wrapped amusingly.

You don't have to ask them to label the cheese. Your receipt is attached to the cheese wrapper. We got a full description of the cheese:

Taggiasco:
'raw goat cheese ... flavoured with the fruity olive ... (plus) peppercorn, rosemary and a drizzle of olive oil. ..made in Italy"

I was treated to a taste of a most unusual cheese. A soft cheese. with a spicy flavour. Highly recommended. Not cheap, but the best things rarely are. Sixteen dollars - what? Sixteen dollars!

On the other hand, we did not go out for a meal over the weekend. Instead we indulged in a home cooked meal with a glass of wine - and treated ourselves to an unusual cheese.

Saturday is their busy day. Sunday is quieter.
