Cheap Last Minute Shopping

Daiso, Japanese shop, in Japan, Singapore, Israel and worldwide.

One train stop away from Changi into town you can find a branch of Daiso, the Japanese bargain store, right next to the MRT exit.

I found an item I was looking for, a make-up mirror, desk-top size, reversing to magnifying, edged in clean white. Everything is two dollars. No need to compare the prices of two items. Easy to see how much you have spent if you are paying cash. They take NETS.

Valudollar hats
Opposite Daeso was another cheap shop, Valludollar, which had hats with small or large brims. I chose an orange straw hat with a small brim at under 5 dollars.

Valludollar Suitcase
They also had four wheel suitcases under 30 Singapore dollars. I should have bought one. Yes, a bargain.

Valludollar has bargain stores all over Singapore, from the one near Expo, which is near the airport, to Bendemeer in the middle of the island near Mustaphas near Little India, to Bukit Panjang at the end of the blue Downtown line (which has Expo and Changi at the other end).

Inexpensive Souvenirs
If you are dashing to the airport and want some last minute souvenirs, or gifts, these are handy shops. Daeso has lots of notebooks and others stationery which makes great gifts for all ages.

Free Amusement
If you need somewhere to kill a few hours whilst waiting for a flight out of Singapore, or arriving early before your accommodation or office is open, here are some suggestions.

24 Hour Opportunity
Mohammed Mustafa's department store is open 24 hours. Their nearest MRT is Bendemeer, or Farrer Park.

Several branches of McDonalds are open 24 hours.

For food, ready to go or packaged several supermarkets are open 24 hours.

For example, Cold Storage at Rail Mall and other branches.

Useful Information And Websites
Expo MRT station is on both the blue Downtown line and the green line.
Daiso
