How do they count votes? Would you like to be a tally counter?

There are many ways of counting winners, and votes.
First past the post.
Points over the season.

Judges vote.
the public present vote.

Vote on tear-off slips.

Vote on your favourite.

Vote the vest speech or the best performance.

Vote on menti.com

Vote with a show of hands.

Vote with eyes shut and a show of hands.

Braddell Heights Advanced club needs a tally counter for the humorous speech contest on Saturday 19 October 2019, 2pm-5pm at Braddell Heights CC. it sounds like a dull job, just going around collecting bits of paper for judges' voting slips. Not so. Why?

It is fascinating to see how you can add the numbers in columns up and down and have the tally counter and chief judge all double check.

Points can be voted first, points for second, and so on.

What about invalid votes?

Then what do you do with a tie? Casting vote. Tie breaker judge's vote?

Every chief judge has a slightly different take on it.

Please call me or VPE Faith if you want to be a tally counter or know somebody who would enjoy or profit from the experience.
