See And Buy Beryl Cook's Paintings of buxom ladies and follow her to Plymouth

Being a large lady myself, I like to see large ladies being featured. I looked at the Botero sculpture and it reminded me of something else I had seen. The celebration of plump ladies in paintings by the late Beryl Cook. Before that, the postcards of fat ladies from the seasides.

I have seen fat figures before. What do the Botero sculptures remind me of? Beryl Cook.

Now what do the Beryl Cook pictures remind me of? Saucy postcards by Donald McGill.

Before Beryl - Donald McGill
Donald McGill was famous for his saucy postcards of overweight beachgoers, postcards with punning captions.

Beryl Cook Summary or UK trail
Beryl Cook's paintings have been acquired by the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow, Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery, Plymouth Art Gallery and Durham Museum.

You can buy fridge magnets and key rings showing humorous scenes from Beryl Cook for under five pounds (presumably plus postage).

For example, the lady flasher in My Fur Coat.
.

And Sabotage.

I like the fur coat but not so much sabotage. I can see why some people consider her pictures simple or even obscene.

However, to me it is the eyes that make the picture. Notice the expressions of surprise or disapproval.

BERYL COOK TO BUY
See it, love it, want it?
If you happen to have a spare million to invest or decorate your home or a grand building, or to be in charge of big spending for an art gallery, here are some Beryl Cook pictures for sale:

Lots to see in Plymouth (where the Plymouth Brethren came from to the USA). Plymouth is mouth of the river, a port. From London, about four hours drive by car, about 5 hours by public coach, about three and a bit by train. From Cardiff in Wales about two and a half hours. Also ferries and planes.
