Canberra, New MRT station in Singapore, and other new stations and names

The new station, Canberra, opened November 2019, is named after Canberra in Australia, a legacy from . The station is on a street called Canberra Link. You can see the station being constructed in Feb 2018 on Street View.

If I don't live there, why should I care? Because it is the latest station and a peep into the future of other stations.

It cost 90 million Sing dollars. It was designed to look like a ship.

(London, England, has art deco stations and homes with Thirties architecture including circular portholes and parallel lines. Art deco hotels, too.)

Where is Canberra MRT station? On the red north south line. Five stops to Bishan where you can change onto the yellow circle line. Or continue four stops to Newson to change onto the blue downtown line.

Artwork - Symbiosis
On the northbound platform you can see the Symbiosis artworkd showing art based on drawings by 70 people who went on a nearby nature walk. Flora and fauna, plants and animals.
