Why go to Malaysia, from Singapore? It makes a change from Singapore. It is easy to get to. No need to fly or cross the water on a ship. You can drive a car, ride a bike or take a bus.
Melaka is half way to KL. Less than a day's drive, half a day's drive with a stop for lunch.
Melaka is smaller than KL. Cute, quaint, cosy, colourful, historic, cultural. Not a big city. Small enough to walk around. Yet plenty to do for a couple of days.
Malaysia is cheaper than Singapore.
I asked the girl on the desk, "Are the owners Chinese?"
She laughed, "Yes!"
