Coronavirus And Cancelled Meetings - Singapore and Worldwide

Saturday 15 2020

How is the Coronavirus in Singapore affecting me, my travel plans and my social life?

If you know Myers Briggs personality test, used by major employers throughout the USA and worldwide, you know that one of the four pairs of opposite characteristics is judgers and  perceivers.  I call it judgers and procrastinators. Judgers want a quick decision. Procrastinators want to put off decision until the last minute.

One group of people keep saying, don't cancel your annual conference. Don't cancel your area contest. Wait and see. The health situation could blow over. We need to wait until we have permission or direction from those above us.

However, our primary responsibility is to those nearby, our family, colleagues, friends, who could fall ill or lose money, from cancelled flights and hotels, rather than people in another country, who do not suffer the consequences, are busy with other matters, and might not even be fully aware of local conditions.

I want to know.

If you are holding meetings on company premises and they are cancelling bookings of non work events you have no choice.

Is a Toastmasters meeting social or training? I would say it is training. However, the company might restrict people who do not work in the building.

If your emails are read by your employer you might want chatter on whatsapp.

The question of
I heard that Toastmasters International Area meetings would not be cancelled and turned into online.
