Old and New East End of London: From Jack The Ripper To Today

You can enjoy the old and the new all over London but especially the East End, where I was entranced by stories going back to the time of my late father's grandfather, in the 1880s. That was the Victorian era of hero Disraeli and villain Jack the Ripper.

You can still see the old synagogue where Benjamin Disraeli went as a child, before his father converted the family. That conversion enabled Disraeli to take up the post of Prime Minister.
