You may know all this already, but we sat through a meeting with fifty people and one person could not find her camera and cover it when she was timer. So it is useful to be able to explain clearly to help another person.
If you cannot see yourself on screen, that doesn't mean the others cannot see you.
1 Your photo may be on screen two or three (or one if you are looking at a speaker or group on screens two and three).
2 Your camera cover may have fallen off.
3 You may have two devices connected. You might cover the camera on your screen, but.
WARNING
Always whisper when somebody else is in front of a computer screen. Never shou insults about the family member of colleague who is with you.
Do not make comments about a caller until you are sure the phone is muted.
On one occasion I accidentally dialled a friend. I did not know I had not disconnected. She heard a long conversation as we were loading the car.
On another occasion somebody called and I talked for ten minutes during a meal and then said goodbye. As I tried to find the off button a member of my family said, "I'm glad you got rid of them. He/she would have talked for hours!"
If fifty pople are attending a meeting, you need to brief them all at the start. You might need a reminder later for latecomers.
Do you need a webcam?
You probably have a camera built into your phone and ipad and laptop.
Where is it?
Look for a circle with glass above it. If it has a hole it is a socket, for a microphone or headphones which come free with your mobile phone.
Some headphones have a microphone attached.
Where is the camera in your laptop?
Probably in the middle of the top border or frame of your screen. Again, the circular or oval holes are sockets. But if there's a glass over it, then it's is probably the camera lens.
How do you know? If you can see yourself on the screen, or the other person can see you, then

If you are just an amateur, you may improve your blurred screen simply by wiping the glass r plastic lens gently with a soft cloth, such as a screen cleaning cloth, or one you are given by an optician for cleaning your spectacle lenses.
Green Screen
You can buy one or make one from a sheet. You might need a support for the sheet.
If you get reflections in your eyes or spectacles, try covering the light or window (with a curtain or blind) or moving your chair or looking up or down, or adding extra lights.
