During Covid-19 some people are using zoom and video conferencing at work. Even when you are in an office, you need to sit apart.
I and many toastmasters are using the same systems for educational meetings. We are giving public speeches, and sharing slide presentations.
A friend of mine from toastmasters on Facebook raised the question of time-lag, in speaking and singing. I replied:
A scattered choir managed to sing in unison.
In speech contests, some contestants sing to be memorable and demonstrate another skill.
For most of us online, the problem is not singing with a delay but speaking with a delay. People speak to me and we are cross-talking because they are asking, can you hear me, and my reply, 'yes', is delayed. The culprit cannot be other person's connection, because I wave my hand and see my own hand wave on my screen several seconds later - unless my computer is sending the signal elsewhere and back to me.me
