How To Have An Online Birthday party

You can hold an online birthday party of people in your neighbourhood or around the world.

Invitation
Send out invitations.

Dress Code
Set a dress code. It might be, wear sparkly clothes. Wear party clothes. Wear a hat. Wear a tie or bow tie. (Or the favourite colour of the birthday boy or girl. For example, red, pink, blue, black and white, earth colours, silver, gold.

Birthday Cake
Ask everybody to have a piece of cake with a candle. Send a cake to the birthday boy or girl.

I decided to act as if I were going to a real party. I dressed up and found a bottle still in its wrapping paper. I wore a party hat.

Party Picture
I edited my photo on the phone. The editing options included auto which intensifies colour. Further along to the right are several colour options I dont normally use as well as this rarely sed option which sends coloured circles. Mostly that would be entirely inappropriate. However, I tired it. The effect was good.

Toast
Ask every one to fill a glass for a toast and a picture of the toast.

Prepare Speeches
Get everybody to say something they like about the birthday boy or girl. Record it. Type it out as text to display.

Make a montage of photos of the birthday boy or girl. It could be the past year at your club or office. Or previous year's birthdays.

Take a group photo. Create a whatsapp group of those attending if you want the photo to remain private. Otherwise, send it to Facebook. .

Arrange for everybody to have a zoom background of happy birthday.
Either ask everybody to choose their own photo and have a variety or happy birthday background. Or ask everybody to have the same photo, maybe upload it at the same time after the cake cutting and the singing of happy birthday..

Happy Birthday
You can arrange for happy birthday to be played for you to sing along in English. Then play versions in other languages, such as French, Spanish, German, Chinese (Mandarin), Cantonese, Malay, Tamil. Or any other language which will please the group.

Ask a suitable multi-lingual person or a good singer to lead the singing. Show the words karaoke style so everybody can sing along. If you have time, rehearse the singing.

Wishing you a happy birthday, wherever you are.
