America's latest venue for the Oscars - Union station, Los Angeles

Los Angeles' Union station is the setting for the Oscars, extending the space needed for social distancing.

You may have seen the station already as it has appeared in numerous films.

Movies that have featured Union Station as a filming location include:

The station is open as usual for trains, during the ceremony, as well as before and after.

One more place to put on your visit list next time you are in Los Angeles, as well as the stars in the pavement. (NB what the British call the pavement, Americans call the sidewalk. to Americans, pavement is the roadway.)

If you are looking for a backdrop for a selfie while travelling, railway stations could be your thing.

Would you believe, there are many Union stations in the USA, and Europe and elsewhere.

If you check out the national register of historic places in Los Angeles you wil find many more photo opportunities.

My favourites are:

The Rock House - the Lummis House.

Hollywood cemetery with graves of Rudoph Valentino, Bugsy Diegel and for your last picture in your slide show or movie, the grave reading: That's All Folks.
