The Entrance Corridor

Frida Kahlo

Her eyes follow you!

Not just the way painted eyes seem to follow you, a well known trick, based on perspective. You just paint the eyes looking forwards. As the viewer moves, the eyes seem to change moving left to right or vice versa.

This animation makes the eyes go up and down. They must be on some device which repeats the movement, as they did not move immediately when I approached the painting.

Artwork at the entrance. An entertainment if you are just going to the bar. But we were rushing to claim our tickets to a film show in Projector X

In the Bar

The bar. Stand, sit looking at the view, or look at each other.

Cosy table for two

The screen is large. I decided not to go for the front row which might involve being too near the screen and having to twist my neck upwards. I took the risk of sitting further back.

You are well enough distanced not to have your view obscured by the people sitting in front.

I loved the tables for two with the tray table next to you for your drinks. We were well spaced out for social distancing during Covid-19.

Both in the cinema and in the bar area, we were able to be well apart from others.

48 seat cinema and wireless headphones.

Private Events

We went for a private event, a wine with a film about wine, organized by a wine seller promoting discounted cases of the wine which we had a glass of with the film show. I am not usually a drinker of dry white wine. I drink sweet wine, sparkling wine, and rose wine. But the wine offered was fine by me. My husband called it a quaffable wine

On the way out I noticed the dancing cow. He had had more to drink than I had had.

The bull. Artwork in the corridor. Allow time to admire the artwork before or after rushing to the bar to greet friends or to claim your seats for a film show.

The bull is tethered with a jolly red rope, standing on its hind legs, tall enough to touch the top of the attractive orange mountain. He looks happy, led to and tied down where he wants to be.

Afterwards we had a late night supper at The Warehouse, which I have described in an earlier post.

1 Arrive early if you want to get a window seat in the bar.

2 Make sure to stop and wait for Frida's eyes to move.
