Lantern Festival - another name for Chinese New Year? No

It seems to me that every Chinese festival has lanterns and food. ball dumplings in soup. One day festival. 15th day. More lion or dragon dances.
These Chinese lanterns are red. Red is lucky. Black and white are associated with funerals.
The name lantern festival is to celebrate the full moon, echoing the ball shape. It is not the whole festival, just the last day or end, also called the first day.

It is also the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day.
It is translated into Chap Goh Mei, 15th day in Hokkien, a Chinese dialect.
Celebrated in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

What about other nationalities and religions? Doesn't that apply everywhere! Wherever you go , there's always something new to see and new food to enjoy.
