WW2 surrender and recovery sites to visit in Singapore

Years ago on Fort Canning you could visit The Battle Box, the centre of Singapore where British command in WW2 surrendered to the Japanese.

I visited it and talked about it on Radio London. Now it seems to have disappeared, perhaps incorporated into a larger museum or archived. If you know, let me know.

At Fort Canning, a few steps away, I remember seeing the Bicentennial exhibition, from Singapore to Singaporean.
All highly technical with artificial rain and umbrellas, ending with the joy of modern Singapore.

If you are keen on WWII history, go to the Old Ford Factory museum which shows life in wartime and how people grew their own food. The museum depicts the end of the war when the Japanese surrendered to the British.

Closed from My 22nd 2023. Their website says their contract ends.
