Bunk Art 1, somewhere in the north of Tirana, capital of Albania - but where?

Two of Tirana's major attractions are Bunk Art 1 and Bunk Art 2. The number two is in the centre of the city. We did that.

Bunk art 2 was in the north. We followed our Satnav around in circles. We went down  side turning which ended in such a narrow point that we had to back all the way up.

In the end we reached our destination, supposedly, but it was nowhere to be seen. So we gave up. We would have been better off spending money paying taking a guided tour which gets you there. Never mind.

I decided that I was not sorry to miss it. Bunk Art 1 was all about the miseries of life under a previous regime. We had seen that before at the house of Leaves. If I want to be depressed on holiday I can read contemporary news.

The good thing about Bunk Art 2 was that it ends with a soothing abstract video and music.

At least they could end with the people recounting being tortured ending by saying how good it is now to be free and safe.

Neither the hotel nor the internet provided us with a detailed map showing us the  streets around all the attractions in Albania. We had also lost time the previous day looking for the holocaust memorial which is marked wrongly on the map at the entrance to the park which is nearest to the memorial.

Despite this, we loved Tirana, the capital, and the Albanian people. All in all, a highly recommended city, with lots of other exhibitions, such as Bunk Art 2, the House of Leaves, and the Pyramid (which you walk up) in the centre.
