United states, or countries divided into two, three or four? Or more?

One God. Once country. One king. One parliament. One man, one vote. One wife. One child.

Or democracy. Is that freedom or anarchy?

American is the United States. United. That is a good thing. But the Native Americans have been allocated areas of land exclusive to them. Advantage of the USA, one currency. No need for a passport going from one State to the next. Disadvantage, the need of a wall to keep out people because your country is so popular.

Italy was united.

Belgium was created.

Yugoslavia was united and then fell apart.

Czechoslovakia. Now in two. Czech Republic. Slovakia.

The USSR wants Ukraine back.

UK

The United Kingdom united England and Scotland. Not the Scottish nationalists think they would benefit by being separate.

The British empire fell apart. Countries wanted independence. Then they wanted to join the Commonwealth.

The  EU. Sounded like a good idea. One currency. Spend a fortune translating into 12 languages. Why doesn't each language group take financial responsibility for translating into it's own language?

NATO. Sounded like a good idea.

China wants Taiwan back.

So what about Palestine?  I hear people calling for a two state solution. They already tried that in 1948. Palestine was divided into Israel and Transjordan, then renamed at Jorden.

You could have a three state solution. Or even a four state solution. Jordan for the descendants of Bedouins. Gaza for Palestinians. West bank, another group. Ashkenazis speaking Yiddish in Tel Aviv. Sephardis, those who left Arab lands, in the places occupied by settlers. Jerusalem divided into the four quarters, including one quarter for Armenians. Bethlehem and Nazareth for Christians, the Holy Land. What about those of no religion who just like history and culture? Roman ruin enclaves in Jordan? Patra back to pagans? Sigh.
