NatWest Update - checking what is covered, phone, accessories, laptop, loss

I have had another look at the policy document. It says £200 for accessories as well as the phone if stolen at the same time. Only one phone per person covered.

£200 for accessories? The phone cover can cost £15-75. Earphones. Stylus. Screen protector. USB. (Short for Universal Serial Bus, which carries information from one machine to another, connecting your phone to your laptop/computer.)

But many people who travel have two phones, one for home country, one for overseas. However, one of your phones may be the backup model supplied free by the service provider.

As far as I can see an iPad is covered but not a laptop. So you might need additional extended cover on your house insurance.

It's worthwhile printing off the cover notes and going through them, highlighting any anomaly or item not covered.

I also noted the time allowed for reporting loss.

Reporting Loss
On one policy I looked at you also have to report loss within 24 hours. So no good waiting a week hoping your lost item will magically turn up or be returned by a friend or business.

You might have time dash straight to lost property of the transport system (plane, train, bus, taxi) at the end of the day hoping some or all of your missing property has been found and returned at the end of the transport journey or the pistol's driver's shift. But if no sign of the missing item you have to dash to the police first thing next morning.
