The language of music: piano and tempo

Italian is the language of cooking but also the language of music including opera - including the word opera. If Italian be the language of love, and music is the food of love, learn Italian.

diva
duo - pair of singers
forte - loudness, strength
piano
quartet - a group of four singers or players of musical instruments
solo - single voice or musical instrument
sonata - musical composition in one to three parts eg piano sonata, from the Italian word for sound
soprano
tempo - time (but it can also mean several other words: day, period, season, stage, weather)
trio - three singers
viola
virtuoso - expert, outstandingly brilliant player
