Buying Pearls and The Pearl Market in the UK and Ireland

I went looking for The Pearl Market, which somebody mentioned on my Facebook page, assuming I would find it in Singapore. Instead I found this website for the Pearl Market in Wales.

The website if very useful in telling you the difference between one sort of pearl and another, old pearls and their size and stringing and knots and value. What not to buy, whatnots, and knots.

Knots between pearls are a good sign that the pearls are likely to be real, because knots were used to prevent rubbing and guard against loss.

I must remember those safety features when re-stringing my broken necklaces.
