Should You Guard Privacy and Shred Your Boarding Passes For Security?

Problem
Some people show their boarding passes on media and this is a security risk. Also throwing them away is a risk.

Answer
Some people prefer not to print their boarding pass but keep it on their mobile.
What if you lose your mobile or internet connection? Or a third world airport official claims you need a printed copy so he or she can charge you for printing it (either official charge or a bribe).
In theory if you have ID the airport staff can print your boarding pass.
I like to photograph my boarding pass. However, I shall think twice now.
If you shred your own boarding pass or other document with scissors put the two halves in different bins at different locations on different days.
