The Swimming Pool in the Sky, by the American Embassy In London - next year's novelty hotel

Next year expect to see the grand opening of the hotel and the swimming pool in the sky linking two buildings by the American Embassy. the development is called Embassy gardens.

The Swimming pool started out in the USA, where it was tested for safety, then transported south to Galveston, the island off the south coast of Texas. Galveston, oh, Galveston, sung by Glen Campbell, was the song played, when I lived in the USA and travelled to Galveston and saw the museum about the famous flood where Clara Barton, the American equivalent of England's Florence Nightingale, helped organize help for the survivors.

Anyway, on a brighter note, the gigantic swimming pool was transported across the ocean to Europe, then to the UK. It was hoisted up. But we have to wait until next year for the grand opening.

American Embassy. Embassy Gardens. That is easy to remember.

I have visited the Marina Bay Towers complex in Singapore and sat alongside the tallest infinity pool. I have swum in infinity pools. I am not sure that swimming is a pool suspended over nothing is my thing. I have walked over a glass observation balcony in Malta.

I am glad London will have a new, visually appealing marvel - with a hotel. The tourist industry could do with a boost.

In the lower left of the picture you can see a statue of a foot. Full of surprises. The foot, called Modern Marriage, has a ring in the sole, and is by artist Simon Fujiwara.

For other art around London, see:

The residences in the apartment buildings will view the embassy.

If you get to Singapore, a must see is the view from the top of Marina Bay Sands. You can visit the Observatory or the bar. (Covid19 regulations permitting.)
