A gilded, gold-covered? statue, of a dog? Yes, this is the country which already had a wonderful gold covered statue of a man.
The dog is a breed called the Alabay.
The statue is in the capital city.
Now man's best friend, a dog, is honoured by a statue. I like a statue of a real dog more than abstract sculptures or mythical animals like the cats favoured by the ancient Egyptians. This breed of dog is the national dog. I didn't know there were national dogs, but now I know.
