In Asia, with coronavirus, you are expected to wear a mask if you cough to prevent your coughs and sneezes infecting others.

In Singapore every household has been given four masks by the government.

The government advice is, wear the mask only if you are unwell. Save it for when you need it.

If you have a cough or sneezing illness, stay home. Some businesses are eligible for the government compensation scheme if they lose money by letting staff work from home.

If you have a fever and other symptoms, call your doctor who will send you to a hospital with an isolation department. This means you don't infect the rest of your family, who might be wage earners or elderly and sick and therefore vulnerable.

In hospital you might have nursing staff to given you food and drink. At home you could be too sick to feed yourself, have no visitors, or not want to infect others, or they could also be sick.

A hospital cannot cure the cause, but can alleviate symptoms such as difficulty in breathing if you need oxygen.
