Can you teach your children and other people's English and other languages?

Author
Angela Lansbury, teacher of English and other languages. I didn't think I could teach other languages, as my qualifications and training are in English.

However, I learned French to A level standard, kept up my French with French au pair girls.

Then, when I was teaching a pupil English, she asked for help with French homework. This gradually took over. I soon discovered that to teach a language, or even maths, especially when the pupil has a book with the answers at the back, all you need is confidence and to be one step ahead.
