Chimps escape from Hannover zoo in Germany Wednesday July 11 by making a makeshift ladder and scaling the barrier.
They wandered about and most of them voluntarily returned to their enclosure. I first read about this in the Daily Mail online news.
Zoo officials herded visitors outside because chimps are dangerous and can severely injure or kill humans.
Very funny.
But when you start to think, why are the barriers so low? All animal enclosures should be roofed. This is not the first time an animal has got over a barrier. Why aren't animals tagged. A warning sound should be triggered by the tag the moment a tagged animal crosses its boundary?
A zoo should have human refuges where you can go if an animal escapes.
