Mother's Day in the UK and USA is time for treating mother to a Sunday lunch which she doesn't have to cook. (Same goes for Father's Day.) Note the local date in your diary.
You should be finding suggestions in local bakery shop windows, restaurants, and advertisements in local free newspapers. Make a list of your family's favourite restaurants. They may be booked on that day. If you normally go out on Sunday lunch anyway, you may find the restaurant fully booked or charging extra. So plan accordingly.
Gifts include cakes and key rings and silver necklaces with the word mother or Mum.
I spotted some special cakes in a bakery store in London.

If you are in the area, check out the window of the cake shop in Hatch End, North West London.
I love the top cake, with what looks like enough cupcakes for every member of the family for lunch or dinner dessert or tea. They are decorated with vertical butterflies. The bunch of flowers has green stalks. The words are Thank you Mum are inscribed on a white covering of icing, presumably over the baseboard. If you are a keen cake maker you could copy this idea and make something similar yourself, but so much trouble. Why not just buy it.
