The twisted chimney is in South wales.
picture by Mel Hartshorn. Thank you Mel. I saw a fantastic view on Facebook.
The Wiki picture shows what you actually see, on a rainy Tuesday.
On a sunny day, at the right angle, or with some nifty editing, or yourself under the arch. If you are too small under it, get the photographer to move away from the subject (never walking abackwards without looking - that's a quick way to fall over.
Rhymney is known worldwide from the song The Bells of Rhymney, which took the words of a now out of copyright poem about a mining disaster, In the lyrics the names of several places in the area form the rhymes.
The song was recorded by Pete Seeger, Cher, Bob Dylan, John Denver. And several others.
The song begins
Oh what will you give me
Say the sad bells of Rhymney.
I am glad that I found the words. I looked for them because the words were muffled on the recording by the Byrds on YouTube..
I shall must make the twisted chimney an item on a growing wish list of unusual things to see worldwide. An excel document? Or just an alphabetical list. See my next blog post
