8 Northumberland Avenue
London
A few steps from London underground's station.
The hotel is a delightful mix of traditional and modern. The hotel's exterior looks traditional. But Boyds Bar is facing the entrance.
Big, beautiful surprise is the modern corridors, all black and silver and glass, lead to downstairs function rooms with the traditional pillars sparking clean and white and modern.
My top photo shows The Sherlock Holmes pub through the window of the hotel. The hotel's name is on the outside of the window. I searched how to rotate the picture so that instead you read the name which is in the foreground.
Any drawbacks? Two of us had trouble logging onto the wifi system but we were only there a few hours so we managed without.
If you are on an Apple MacBook Air you can reverse this picture in preview, then upload your edited version to iPhoto. But blogger.com didn't like to upload my edited version.
