Look carefully at their logo and the mural in their restaurant. At first glance their tiny logo lookes like an oriental building between two palm trees or columns with a sun behind it. When you see it large you see a fork and spoon and instead of a sun, an egg yolk.
Don't Indians eat with their hands? They may do in the Indian restaurants in India and in Little India in Singapore where I spent three seasons out of four tropical seasons for thirty years (summer back in the UK with family, or off to New Zealand skiing in winter). But you try eating a fried egg with your hands!
I was first faced with this problem as a student when I visited Japan on a student trip financed by local chambers of commerce wanting members to practice English by hosting foreign visitors from the UK. My hosts kindly made me a fried egg for breakfast. They asked me how to eat it with chopsticks!
So now you know why an Indian restaurant specialising in eggs and chicken has a spoon and fork on their logog.
Update on the egg and chicken restaurant, or the chicken and eggs restaurant. This restaurant is a new addition to Hatch End High street, the Broadway, named by a local London paper as restaurant capital of the North west.
This egg restaurant with Indian style recipes, is in good company in the cosmopolitan restaurant world of Hatch End. Opposite is Coriander, a long-established Indian restaurant. We also have a vegetarian restaurant, and another Indian restaurant. In total more than twenty restaurants or eateries.
