Brighton Landmarks - the Piers and Pavilion

Brighton has something for everyone but with a weird, wacky and wonderful uniquely Brighton difference.

Brighton Pavilion

On land, for landlovers,  the Brighton Pavilion built by mad king George, is Indian on the outside but Chinese on the inside.

Brighton's Two Piers

Brighton was once also famous for its piers. A Quay is for boats. But a pier is a promenade which takes you out to sea, to look at the ocean and back at the coast, with no need for a swimsuit. Brighton was renowned for being the only place with two piers.

Alas, now there is only one. The other one of the piers has collapsed, leaving the end sitting out at sea like a shipwreck,

Brighton's sea front attractions include the high i3600 lookout. And the long pier. Vertical or horizontal views. Take your choice.

The Brighton Pier, or Brighton Palace Pier, makes a charge for visitors. But certain people such as Brighton residents can get free admission. Check the latest information for the high season charges.

Many people would like the ruined second pier to be restored. Opponents fear that the restoration of the second pier will reduce the income of the other pier. Supporters of the restoration, think the more the merrier.
