B & K in Hatch End, in north west London is the foodie heaven I used to dream about when I lived in Singapore. We went there in November 2025 for lunch with friends.
Starters - or main courses.
Smoked salmon. Add mixed salad.
Our starter choices included chicken soup with noodles and a dumpling. That is a dish found in Poland and several other European countries.
The service was attentive. When we started to share the soup the waitress offered us a second soup bowl without being asked.
Smoked salmon.
Mixed hors d'ouvres.
End with the bill which is sweetened by a foil wrapped chocolate.
The restaurant is Jewish style but not kosher. The place is run by a family of Christians. maybe originally Greeks I believe. We have been going there for years, at least since the year 2000.
At least two generations have been running the original smaller, busy Edgware branch. The slightly more spacious Hatch End branch is sheltered from passing traffic by the slip road where you can park and pay.
Like many restaurants, they don't take American Express.
