The Maldives is not Mauritius. Mauritius is an island off the east coast of Africa.
The Maldives, notice the plural, is a collection of many islands in the same region. At the World Travel Market in London I visited the stand of a hotel group in the Maldives, called Sun Siyam. They have many properties.
In addition to their selling point of sea and sand and stress free get away from it all, ideal for honeymooners who want to be alone, together with each other, the hotel group have properties designed for families and conviviality.
The Maldives don't have wineries. Being a Muslim country. They don't attract the rowdy crowd. But you can enjoy a quiet drink.
