Translations
Most translations are easy. You just have to read something twice.

American - British English
dollar store - Poundland (or other UK brand names - we don't have a generic word)

Well known
fall - autumn
eraser - rubber (watch out - ask for a rubber in a US drug store and they will send you to the department selling condoms)

Less clear are these:
make a right - turn right
a quarter after - a quarter past
nine eleven - ninth of November (terrorist attack date)
