Easy access toilets for the disabled on motorways

My husband and I both wondered how a person needing a wheelchair would cope with motorway stops.

Walking frame or walking stick or other mobility issues would also have trouble trying to cope with the long walks to toilets at motorway service stops.

The answer is simply. Nearby the service stops filled with shops and restaurants is a petrol station.

 The Americans say gas station.

In the UK we used to simply say a garage.

Behind most of the petrol stations is a mini supermarket with indoor toilets.

Trowell North bound on M1 was a Greggs, sold high vis jackets in orange or yellow, had a fine handicapped toilet and was looking for feedback.

This sign is fine for somebody in a wheelchair. If they have a magnifying glass.
Less useful to some body using a walking frame.

supermarket, aften with a small cafe, and toilets including a handicapped toilet.

You can park right outside the door, able

to watch the car but still keep the handicapped person near the driver, carer or passenger.

This is on the M1 going north from Lonfon to Derby.

On one stop near Leicester we were able to get a hot croissant and coffee and eat sitting down. One of the food displays had Marks &  Spencer food

At the next stop we did not need more food.
